Master Portfolio Services Ltd (MPSL) is a SEBI-registered Portfolio Manager (SEBI PMS Reg: INP000001637, CIN: U67120GJ1994PLC124853) incorporated in Gujarat, with its registered office at 704, 7th Floor, Sears Tower, Opp. Just Dial Tower, Panchvati to Gulbai Tekra Road, Ahmedabad 380009. It is the PMS arm of the mastertrust Group, one of India's leading diversified financial services groups headquartered in Ludhiana, Punjab. The mastertrust Group was founded in 1985 by Mr. Harjeet Singh Arora as Arora Financial Consultants (P) Limited, which was later converted into Master Trust Ltd. (CIN: L65991PB1985PLC006414, listed on BSE) — the flagship listed entity. The group's network spans 24 states with 1,000+ employees and 3,00,000+ client relationships. The group encompasses Master Capital Services Ltd. (Broking & Distribution, NSE/BSE/MCX/NCDEX member), Master Insurance Brokers Ltd., Master Commodity Services Ltd., Master Share & Stock Brokers Ltd., and Master Portfolio Services Ltd. (PMS). MPSL offers two PMS strategies — a long-only equity strategy (mastertrust India Growth Approach, inception October 22, 2011) and a market-neutral arbitrage strategy (mastertrust iRage Absolute Return Approach, inception October 13, 2020). Master Trust Ltd. (the listed parent) received in-principle approval from SEBI in 2025 to sponsor and set up a Mutual Fund. Revenue of Master Trust Ltd. was INR 501 Cr for FY2024.

Investment Philosophy

mastertrust's investment philosophy is rooted in value investing and a strong belief in nurturing an investment culture. MPSL's PMS approach follows a bottom-up research process: each security is evaluated on its fundamentals, and is included or excluded from the portfolio based on its expected risk and return relative to the client's objectives. The primary goal is to outperform market averages consistently, creating long-term wealth while carefully managing risk. The equity strategy (mastertrust India Growth Approach) targets a blend of mid-market securities and large-cap turnaround companies, aiming to beat the BSE 500 TRI benchmark by 5% per annum over the investment horizon through superior risk-adjusted returns. The hybrid strategy (mastertrust iRage Absolute Return Approach) uses sophisticated algorithmic software and automated trade execution to capture mispricing between Nifty Index Futures and constituent Stock Futures, targeting FD+3-4% p.a. after fees with low risk. mastertrust's ethos is 'one point shop for all investment needs,' driven by a relationship-oriented, retail-first approach to value investing.
