Karkardooma Trust is a SEBI-registered Category II Alternative Investment Fund (reg. IN/AIF2/24-25/1712), registered in February 2025 and managed by Smartweb Internet Services Limited — a wholly owned subsidiary of Info Edge (India) Limited (NSE/BSE listed, CIN: L74899DL1995PLC068021), the internet platform conglomerate behind Naukri.com, 99acres.com, Jeevansathi.com, and Shiksha.com. Smartweb Internet Services acts as both Sponsor and Investment Manager to all of Info Edge's SEBI-registered AIFs, which collectively include Info Edge Venture Fund, Info Edge Capital, Capital 2B, and Karkardooma Trust. Karkardooma Trust was set up to invest in growth-stage, tech-enabled companies in India or companies primarily focused on India. Its inaugural scheme, IE Venture Investment Fund III (launched February 2025), targets ₹1,000 crore, with Info Edge committing up to ₹1,000 crore directly or through wholly owned subsidiaries. The trust is named after Karkardooma — a locality in East Delhi where Info Edge's early team had roots. The registered address is Ground Floor, 12A, 94, Meghdoot Building, Nehru Place, New Delhi 110019 — Info Edge's registered office. Fund III is the third external VC co-investment vehicle after Info Edge Venture Fund and Capital 2B, and follows the success of Info Edge's prolific angel and VC co-investing track record (over 100+ portfolio companies including Zomato, PolicyBazaar, Naukri.com, etc.).
Info Edge's external investment philosophy — executed through Smartweb as the AIF manager — is anchored in the belief that India's technology ecosystem will continue producing category-defining companies across consumer internet, B2B SaaS, fintech, and health tech. The Karkardooma Trust / IE Venture Investment Fund III targets growth-stage companies with proven product-market fit and strong unit economics, seeking to generate long-term growth for contributors while supporting the Indian entrepreneurial ecosystem. The fund builds on Info Edge's unique position as both a strategic operator (Naukri, 99acres) and an early investor (Zomato, PolicyBazaar), providing portfolio companies access to Info Edge's deep talent, technology, and distribution networks. The investment life of each scheme is eight years from first closing, extendable by two years with two-thirds contributor consent.
