About

Unitus Seed Fund India is a Category I AIF registered in September 2017 and managed by Capria Ventures Advisors LLP (formerly Unitus Ventures Advisors LLP). It is the second domestic India-domiciled fund in the Unitus Ventures series, a 2018-vintage early-stage venture capital fund focused on technology startups serving low and middle-income populations. The fund targeted 25–30 investments of ₹10–50 million each in seed and early-stage companies across fintech, edtech, healthtech, job-tech, and enterprise technology in India. Capria Ventures is an LP in the fund. In September 2023, Unitus Ventures merged with its US affiliate Capria Ventures to form a single combined entity operating under the Capria Ventures brand, with the Indian legal entity renamed from Unitus Ventures Advisors LLP to Capria Ventures Advisors LLP. The fund is reported as fully invested.

Investment Philosophy

Unitus Seed Fund India was built on the thesis that technology-led entrepreneurship could address the needs of India's low-income masses at scale. The fund backed startups with disruptive, scalable solutions serving large underserved populations across healthcare, education, and fintech — combining impact objectives with venture-scale financial returns. Under Capria's umbrella, the broader strategy now encompasses applied GenAI, with the India team continuing to manage the legacy portfolio while driving Capria's India investment strategy.

Srikrishna Ramamoorthy

Venture Partner (India) – Capria Ventures

Srikrishna Ramamoorthy (known as 'Sri') is one of the three co-founders of Unitus Ventures, having been involved since the fund's inception in 2012. He was previously a Grant Officer at the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation and part of the founding team at Ujjivan, India's leading urban microfinance bank. After the Unitus-Capria merger in September 2023, he joined Capria as Venture Partner for the India region. He holds a B.E. in Computer Science from RV College of Engineering.

Surya Mantha

Managing Partner – Capria Ventures

Surya Mantha was Managing Partner at Unitus Ventures and joined Capria as Managing Partner following the September 2023 merger. He previously worked at Omidyar Network India and RealNetworks, and joined Unitus Ventures in 2019. He leads Capria's India investment strategy.

Will Poole

Managing Partner – Capria Ventures (Co-founder)

Will Poole co-founded Unitus Ventures along with Dave Richards and Srikrishna Ramamoorthy. He was a senior executive at Microsoft where he led the Windows business globally. He continues as Managing Partner at Capria Ventures post-merger.
