About

Y-Point Venture Capital Trust (SEBI Reg. IN/AIF2/25-26/1937) is India's first incubator-linked deep tech venture capital fund, managed by the Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SINE), the technology business incubator of IIT Bombay. Launched in December 2025 with a total corpus of INR 250 crore (approximately US$ 28 mn), the fund is registered as a Category II AIF with SEBI. It is designed to bridge the gap between academic research and commercial viability by providing risk capital to early-stage deep tech startups emerging from IIT Bombay and other premier research institutions. The fund plans to back 25–30 ventures at the pre-seed to seed stage, with individual investments of up to INR 15 crore. Focus sectors include AI and advanced computing, advanced manufacturing, next-generation materials, life sciences and healthcare, climate and clean technology, and space and defence. SINE has supported over 500 startups over two decades, with alumni companies including ideaForge, Atomberg, Gupshup, Bellatrix Aerospace, ImmunoACT, Sedemac, and WhiteRabbit.ai. The fund operates from SINE's premises at IIT Bombay, Powai, Mumbai.
