Wisdom means the ability to discern or judge what is true, right, lasting and insightful
Wisdom Angels (SEBI Reg. IN/AIF1/18-19/0557) is a Category I Angel Fund registered in June 2018, managed by Wisdomsmith Advisors LLP — a Mumbai-based, data and knowledge-led financial advisory and investment firm. Wisdomsmith describes Wisdom Angels as its in-house angel investment platform, which co-invests alongside its HNI and institutional advisory clients in early-stage equity opportunities typically in the USD 1–5 million range. Wisdomsmith's seven partners collectively bring 150+ years of financial services experience spanning commercial banking, investment banking (Lehman Brothers, ICICI Bank, YES Bank), institutional equity research (Economic Times Intelligence Group, Caspian Securities, Lazard India), venture capital, and business consulting (Johnson & Johnson, Dr Reddy's, Sanofi, Bayer). The fund is registered at Wisdomsmith's Nariman Point office (DBS Office Business Centre, 213, Raheja Chambers, Free Press Journal Road). Past investments include Thyrocare Technologies, Lifecell International, Apollo Health & Lifestyle, Naaptol Online, and Laxmi Dental Exports. Wisdomsmith is the investment banking partner in India for CGS-CIMB Securities, giving the platform access to cross-border deal flow from China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, South Korea, and Southeast Asia.
Wisdomsmith and Wisdom Angels invest in companies the team trusts to create value for all stakeholders. The platform combines rigorous financial analysis (Wisdomsmith's core skill) with sector insight — targeting companies whose valuations can be discovered or re-rated through active investor relations, institutional research, and strategic investor introduction. For early-stage deals (Wisdom Angels), the focus is on companies with validated products and a clear path to scale, presented to a curated network of HNIs and co-investors. The team's operating values — value creation, client trust, integrity, and learning — underpin every investment decision.
