Managed by V.E.C Investments
Complex or leveraged strategies — long-short, hedge-fund-style and quant funds. Often open-ended, within SEBI leverage limits.
V.E.C Alternative Investment Fund (SEBI Reg. IN/AIF3/13-14/0081) is one of India's earliest registered Category III AIFs, registered in October 2013 and managed by V.E.C Investment Management (India) Private Limited (CIN: U65923MH2013PTC242159). V.E.C is an investment firm led by Arun Chander Mehra, a former Fidelity International Portfolio Manager who managed the Fidelity Funds India Focus Fund — one of the four largest India-dedicated equity funds, which at peak managed close to $3 billion in assets. V.E.C invests primarily in listed Indian equities with a strong bias towards small and mid-cap companies (market cap up to USD 300 million). The fund focuses on under-appreciated securities, often in businesses going through 'special situations.' V.E.C offers fixed-duration closed-end AIF structures across tenures ranging from 3 to 10 years, providing concentrated exposure through a buy-and-hold approach of 15–20 companies. The firm was one of the early movers in India's AIF ecosystem. Headquarters: Unit No. 1111, 11th Floor, Raheja Chambers, 220 Nariman Point, Mumbai 400021.
