Shaan Patel Asset Management Fund is a SEBI-registered Category III Alternative Investment Fund managed by Shaan Patel Asset Management LLP (SPAM), an Ahmedabad-based quantitative investment firm. SPAM is notable for being founded by Shaan Patel, widely reported as one of India's youngest fund managers, who launched the AIF at age 22. The firm received SEBI approval as a Category III AIF in May 2025 and launched its flagship Flexi-Cap Strategy on 10 July 2025 (Guru Purnima) with an initial AUM of ₹25 crore, reaching approximately ₹36 crore by early 2026. The fund deploys a systematic, data-driven 'intelligent churning' strategy that combines quantitative research, algorithmic systems, and advanced mathematical modelling to identify equity investment opportunities, with a focus on high-growth sectors including Artificial Intelligence, Fintech, and Renewable Energy. Shaan Patel completed a Bachelor's in Finance & Investment and a Master's in Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, and began developing and testing his models on proprietary capital from September 2023 before launching the fund commercially. SPAM is registered at C.D. House, Opp. Madhur Hall, Anandnagar Road, Satellite, Ahmedabad 380015.
SPAM's investment philosophy centres on quantitative investing — using mathematical models, statistical analysis, and algorithmic systems to identify patterns and market opportunities with minimal behavioural bias. The firm's proprietary 'intelligent churning' framework actively manages portfolio positions using systematic signals, distinguishing itself from passive or narrative-driven approaches. The strategy focuses on fundamentally sound businesses with sustainable competitive advantages, growth potential, and efficient capital use, evaluated through a structured, rules-based process. SPAM targets consistent risk-adjusted alpha across market cycles, with particular emphasis on high-growth sectors such as AI, Fintech, and Renewable Energy where quantitative approaches can exploit information asymmetries.
