Foundation of R. Wadiwala Group was laid in 1943 by Shri Bachoobhai Wadiwala, who pioneered equity trading in Surat. The business was later carried forward by the third generation under R. Wadiwala & Co., a sub-broker partnership firm. R. Wadiwala Securities was promoted in 2004 and acquired NSE and BSE membership, becoming a depository participant with CDSL in 2005 and 2006 respectively. In March 2011, the company obtained SEBI registration to operate as Portfolio Managers (PMs). The group has also expanded into commodities broking through memberships with MCX and NCDEX, and diversified into wind energy generation as part of its CSR initiatives. With over 50 locations and a team of 75 qualified personnel, the group serves retail investors, HNIs, corporates, and trusts across South Gujarat. The firm emphasizes equity research with in-house research teams coordinated with Mumbai and Kolkata offices, supported by a proprietary desk of 30+ trained jobbers and arbitrageurs. Strong IT infrastructure and web-enabled risk management systems support its operations.
