Pi Ventures Investment Trust II is a Category I AIF registered with SEBI in June 2016, managed by Pi Partners LLP — the investment manager and advisory entity founded by Manish Singhal and Umakant Soni. pi Ventures is one of India's first and most recognized applied AI and deep technology-focused early-stage venture capital funds, backing founders using artificial intelligence, machine learning, and IoT to solve real-world problems in healthcare, logistics, retail, fintech, and enterprise sectors. The fund is headquartered at the Windmills of Your Mind co-working space, EPIP Zone, Whitefield, Bangalore. pi Ventures has backed several standout portfolio companies including SigTuple (AI for pathology), Niramai (AI for early breast cancer detection), Locus.sh (logistics intelligence), Wysa (mental wellness chatbots), Zenatix (energy efficiency), and Ten3T Health (AI cardiac monitoring). The firm takes an extraordinarily selective approach — evaluating over 1,100 companies over three years to invest in 11 — and focuses exclusively on IP-led and product-led innovation, space technology, semiconductors, quantum computing, and deep tech more broadly. Pi Partners LLP is co-founded by Manish Singhal, a technologist turned entrepreneur and formerly a co-founder of LetsVenture, and Umakant Soni, a pioneer in AI entrepreneurship.

Manish Singhal is a technologist turned entrepreneur turned venture capitalist with 33+ years of experience. He built cutting-edge deep technology products at Motorola, Ittiam, and Sling Media — where he was Country Head for India and the SlingBox product earned 70+ patents and was acquired by EchoStar for $380 million. He co-founded LetsVenture, which became India's leading marketplace for startups and early-stage investors. At pi Ventures, Manish focuses on the most selective, IP-driven investments in applied AI, space tech, semiconductors, and quantum. He is an IIT Kanpur alumnus and avid wildlife photographer.
Umakant Soni
Advisor & Founding Partner
Umakant Soni is an AI pioneer and co-founder of pi Ventures. He founded one of India's earliest AI companies (Vimagino, 2009–10), has advised NITI Aayog, DST, and MEITY on AI strategy, and serves as a nominated expert on the Government of India's GPAI working group on Innovation and Commercialisation. He is now an Advisor & Founding Partner at pi Ventures.
