Funding the Future of Food, Agriculture & Climate
Omnivore Agritech & Climate Sustainability Fund 3 (OACSF3) is a SEBI-registered Category II Alternative Investment Fund managed by Omnivore Capital Management Advisors Private Limited (CIN: U74120DL2011PTC273887), India's pioneering and largest agritech-focused venture capital firm. Founded in 2011 by Mark Kahn and Jinesh Shah, Omnivore funds entrepreneurs building the future of food, agriculture, and climate systems in India and Southeast Asia. The fund was launched in April 2022 and achieved a first close at USD 150 million in mid-2023, marking it Omnivore's third and largest fund. First close investors include major development finance institutions — KfW, FMO, SIFEM, the International Finance Corporation (IFC) — alongside the Self Reliant India (SRI) Fund, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation's Inclusive Agritech Facility, Louis Dreyfus Company Ventures, the Dutch Good Growth Fund, the Belgian Investment Company for Developing Countries (BIO), and Yara Growth Ventures. The fund invests in Seed and Series A rounds of agritech startups across agrifood life sciences, rural fintech, and climate-smart agriculture, with initial cheque sizes of USD 1–5 million targeting 25–30 companies. Omnivore has backed 40+ startups across its three funds, including DeHaat, Arya, Stellapps, Pixxel, Ecozen, and Aquaconnect.
Omnivore believes breakthrough technologies offer the best opportunity to transform smallholder farming in India — making it more profitable, resilient, sustainable, and climate-proof. The firm pioneered agritech investing in India and operates with an impact-first thesis, focusing on startups that create measurable outcomes across four pillars: Agricultural Prosperity, Rural Resilience, Food Security, and Resource Efficiency. Fund 3 sharpens its climate lens, prioritising companies addressing climate mitigation and adaptation in agriculture.
