Operators once, Now thoughtful investors
MedArtha Capital Fund is a SEBI-registered Category II Alternative Investment Fund (IN/AIF2/25-26/2021), registered on January 19, 2026, and managed by MedArtha Capital Advisors Private Limited. The fund is headquartered at 28th Floor, Unit No. 2801, Building No. 4, Maxima, JVLR Road, Jogeshwari, Mumbai 400060. MedArtha Capital is India's first dedicated investment platform focused exclusively on the medical devices and digital health sectors. The fund was launched by Ganesh P. Sabat, former CEO of Sahajanand Medical Technologies (SMT), a leading cardiac stent manufacturer. With 15 years of experience in corporate strategy and finance across medical devices, life sciences, chemicals, and financial services, Sabat launched MedArtha in late 2025. The fund announced a partnership with the Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ) for a dedicated MedTech Capital Fund, inaugurated in Mumbai by Union Minister Piyush Goyal in March 2026. The fund targets a corpus of ₹1,000 crore, with the government of India potentially contributing approximately ₹500 crore through the Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) scheme. MedArtha plans to invest in 10–12 high-growth medtech companies with revenues of ₹30–80 crore, deploying capital over 2–3 years within an 8-year fund lifecycle. The fund focuses on companies developing advanced medical devices including MRI machines, CT scanners, cathlab systems, and neurovascular equipment — to reduce India's heavy import dependency in these segments.
MedArtha Capital operates as an operator-led investment platform, combining financial investment with deep operational expertise in the medical devices sector. The fund backs small and mid-size medtech companies with established products that require capital and operational support to scale manufacturing and expand into larger markets. The investment approach bridges the financing gap in India's medtech ecosystem while advancing the 'Make in India' agenda in strategic healthcare sectors.
