Caring finance. Scaling financing solutions.
Healthkois Fund I (IN/AIF2/24-25/1678) is a Category II AIF registered in December 2024, managed by KOIS Investment Managers India Private Limited — the India-entity of KOIS (Caring Finance), a Brussels-headquartered global impact finance firm founded in 2010 by Charles-Antoine Janssen and François de Borchgrave. KOIS operates offices in Brussels, Paris, Mumbai, New Delhi, Nairobi, and London and has managed HealthQuad (India's leading healthcare innovation VC) as a flagship investment since 2016. Healthkois Fund I is KOIS's India-based Category II AIF dedicated to health impact investing, continuing the firm's thesis of scaling financing solutions for healthcare access, affordability, quality, and awareness across India. KOIS as a firm has enabled 36 million+ patients treated or screened, 52,000+ jobs created, and 219,000+ people trained through its investments globally. The India investment team is based at WeWork C, G Block BKC, Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai 400051. Parag Vaidya (CFO & Associate Partner, Mumbai office) is the SEBI contact person.
KOIS pursues a dual objective of impact and profit through impact investing and innovative finance. The firm invests in companies with high societal and environmental impact for public and private sector clients, targeting top-quartile risk-adjusted returns. For healthcare specifically, KOIS's impact thesis rests on four pillars: Accessibility (expanding reach to underserved markets), Affordability (enabling healthcare access for marginalized communities), Awareness (promoting preventive health initiatives), and Quality (promoting transformation and innovation to enhance care quality). Healthkois Fund I applies this philosophy in the Indian healthcare sector via a Category II AIF structure, targeting growth-stage healthcare businesses with clear social impact integration and sustainable business models.
