About

Karnataka Semiconductor Venture Capital Fund (KARSEMVEN Fund) is a SEBI-registered Category I Alternative Investment Fund (Venture Capital Fund) (reg. IN/AIF1/13-14/0049), registered in April 2013 and managed by Karnataka Asset Management Company Private Limited (KAMCO) — the government-promoted fund manager for all KITVEN family funds. KARSEMVEN is a ₹92.95 crore fund focused on the Semiconductor, Electronics System Design & Manufacturing (ESDM), Electronics, Embedded Systems, and allied technology sectors within Karnataka. The fund's investors are State and Central Government institutions and banks: Karnataka Innovation & Technology Society (KITS), Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), CanBank Venture Capital Fund (from the Electronic Development Fund, Government of India), and others. The fund makes equity, preference capital (convertible/redeemable), or debenture investments of ₹100 lakhs to ₹350 lakhs per company at the initial stage, enhanceable in subsequent rounds. Investment Philosophy

KARSEMVEN Fund's investment philosophy targets the strategic semiconductor, ESDM, and electronics ecosystem within Karnataka — supporting the state's ambition to be a national leader in chip design, embedded systems, and electronics manufacturing. The fund prioritises companies with proven technology, strong IP or product differentiation, and a clear path to commercialisation within a 3–5 year horizon. Investments are in equity and equity-linked instruments to create long-term commercial value for government LPs and portfolio companies alike. KAMCO, with over 25 years of fund management experience across KITVEN vintages, brings deep domain networks and government policy access to support portfolio companies in building scalable businesses.
