Mr. Janak Merchant started in the seventies with the objective of creating an equity investment culture in Pune. He founded the Pune Stock Exchange in 1983. The firm survived and evolved through major market events including the 1992 bubble, NBFC collapse and the UTI-64 debacle, helping clients navigate volatile financial markets.

Jaideep Merchant joined the business in 1999 after completing his Chartered Accountancy. He is the Chief Investment Officer and became a CFA charter-holder of the US-based CFA Institute in 2006. He led the transition from a transaction-oriented broking model to a long-term asset management focused Portfolio Management Service launched in 2005.

Saher Merchant oversees compliance functions, ensuring regulatory adherence and governance standards within the firm’s Portfolio Management operations.

Karan Sandhu leads business development initiatives, strengthening client relationships and expanding the firm’s outreach while aligning new mandates with the firm’s long-term investment philosophy.

Samarth Shedshale is part of the research team, contributing to bottom-up stock analysis and supporting portfolio construction aligned with the firm’s margin-of-safety framework.

Jayalaxmi Rajendran manages operational processes, ensuring smooth execution, reporting accuracy and efficient client servicing within the Portfolio Management Service.

Ritu Shah supports the investment team through fundamental research and analysis, assisting in identifying opportunities that meet the firm’s long-term investment criteria.

Sujata Thorave oversees fund accounting functions, ensuring accurate valuation, reporting and compliance with regulatory standards.

Madhuri Kulkarni handles client servicing, maintaining long-term relationships and ensuring seamless communication between clients and the investment team.

Tanya Ratna supports compliance and operational functions, helping maintain regulatory standards and efficient internal processes.

Vinita Choudhary assists in fund accounting and financial reporting, supporting accurate portfolio valuation and operational integrity.
