About

IKP Venture Trust – I (IN/AIF1/18-19/0632) is a SEBI-registered Category I AIF managed by IKP Venture Advisors Private Limited (CIN U93000TG2009PTC062441), part of the IKP Trust group based at Genome Valley, Hyderabad. IKP (India Knowledge Park / ICICI Knowledge Park) was founded in 1999 by ICICI Bank in partnership with the Government of Andhra Pradesh as India's first and largest biotech cluster. The investment management arm — also referred to as IKP Investment Management Company — manages the IKP Venture Trust and co-promotes the India Innovation Fund with NASSCOM. The parent IKP Trust group also runs IKP Knowledge Park (200-acre science park), IKP Centre for Technologies in Public Health, SughaVazhvu Healthcare, and IKP Centre for Advancement in Agricultural Practice. IKP is a DST-supported incubator and has partnered with BIRAC (DBT) on the Biotech Ignition Grant programme.

Investment Philosophy

IKP Venture Advisors focuses on early-stage venture capital in life sciences, biotech, health tech, agri-tech, and engineering sectors. The fund invests at the intersection of advanced scientific knowledge and social impact, particularly in healthcare and life sciences, in companies that can move from lab to real world. IKP's approach combines mentoring, funding, and shared infrastructure through its 200-acre Genome Valley science park ecosystem. The group acts as bridge between scientific research and commercial application, partnering with startups, SMEs, research institutions, and government agencies.

Deepanwita Chattopadhyay

Deepanwita Chattopadhyay spearheaded the development of IKP Knowledge Park, India's premier Life Science Research Park, and launched IKP EDEN in Bengaluru. She has served as Treasurer of the International Association of Science Parks (IASP) twice and is on the IASP Advisory Council. She is recognised with the Rotary Vocational Excellence Award (2024), Lifetime Achievement Award from the Golden Jubilee Biotech Park for Women Society (2023), and FICCI FLO Influential Women Award (2021). She holds directorships in IKP Trust, IKP Ventures, Suven Pharma, RICH, and various government committees.

Sivaram Krishna Bandhakavi

As former CEO of IKP Trust, Sivaram Bandhakavi managed IKP Ventures (early-stage VC) and IKP Health (primary care health systems). He is a Director on the IKP Board and has been central to building the Genome Valley ecosystem.
