Blue Ashva Capital is an investment fund backing sustainable and long-term profitable businesses which are solving real challenges and building lasting value in core sectors. The firm was founded by Satya Bansal, who grew up in a small village about 80 km north of Jaipur in Rajasthan, India. His modest village upbringing — daily trips to the nearest well for water, long walks to school, and running errands for his grandfather's shop — gave him a first-hand understanding of the difference between 'needs' and 'wants' in life. Reflecting on three decades of building businesses within the corporate world and advising ultra-high net worth families, Satya observed a persistent pattern: value attribution had been moving away from 'needs' (what he calls 'core') towards 'wants' (what he calls 'derivative'). Entrepreneurs, investors, and capital have all been gravitating towards higher-valuation trend-driven sectors, while the world faces urgent challenges in energy, food security, climate change, and economic immobility for those at the bottom of the pyramid. Core sectors are erroneously perceived as unprofitable, best left to governments or philanthropy. Blue Ashva Capital was formed to challenge this perception — to find, invest in, and grow businesses that create the right balance between profitability and impact, building a better future.
